Are you the excellence you teach?

Educational Excellence: May I Be Direct?

Educational excellence doesn't start with EDU 101, it's not in the hearts of every educator because we all have and continue to witness educators burning out in the first year.  It's not about motivation because what inspires at 10 am in a professional development workshop that serves orange juice, fresh fruit and croissant fizzles by 11:45 am on the dot.  It's really about what is your mental capacity to not allow all the mediocrity that you work with to rub off on you.

May I Be Direct?  It's more so about going through your day and not complaining about one thing that went off course as if as educators we are not use to that happening.   It's about what you’re willing to do and do it well...no complaints, side eye, sarcasms or innuendos.  It's about the powerful 3.  Not everyone has it but they can attain it at some point in their teaching career.   It's not easy say that 3 times and watch everyone click away because God forbid something doesn't come easy enough to not inconvenient you.  It really about the 3. That simple number that can change your world. If you let it...

1. Gravitate- powerful people cannot be groomed, mentored or created let be clear that is a myth they simply must have that personal ability in which people look for them and want to be around them.  Powerful people sit in the back of the auditorium...on purpose...you know why because if you sit in the back of the room people are wondering and always seeking you out.  There is something magnetic about someone whom you value their time, conversation and advice you already know everything will be alright and you want to be able to have that gravitation ability too. Now How Do I Get It...???

2. Knowledge---I never waste time arguing with a fool I let them have the floor all by themselves. Knowing what you’re talking about whether you lived it or learned it is a powerful tool in which people gravitate to because they want to have a little of it or they really understand the value in being with someone who knows what they’re doing or talking about...tell the truth would you rather talk to the physician's assistant or the physician be careful how you answer it's really the nurse...read all the stories before reacting, having an open mind before an opinion, understanding facts not emotions before sharing on social media, etc.  All knowledgeable individuals are attractive even if they don't look that way at first.

3. Confidence---the most confident people are not the most good looking any mindless unknowledgeable person whom people gravitate to isn't always the smartest it doesn't take much to be an ornament.  I love those Christmas ornament during the season we handle them so carefully because they’re so fragile and before you know it fell and dropped and broke because its value wasn't based in quality. Confidence is having what it takes to simply know sometimes in your pretty lonely ugly self you can stand alone...that you can be on the front line and everyone take notice.  That someone would dare to look at you the person, voice and idea and bypass the visual. Confidence is true character that people gravitate to because of knowledge.  And just think you can be beautiful inside and out... Educational Excellence strives for the 3...
